I've been going to Paul's for 25+ years for my fleet of autos_ 2 Saabs, 2 Toyotas, 3 Mazdas, 3 VW's and 1 Honda. Paul and his crew are the best mechanics I've known--- honest, reliable, trustworthy, determined to get things right. Paul always offers advise as advise--- never as an ultimatum about which repairs should be done with a car. There's no browbeating--- only respect for the customer and an instinct that the cars are machines that have their own needs and temperaments.

I have never had a bad experience with Ed Murphy Auto Service, both Ed and his employee Ned are always extremely polite and helpful, both in person and on the phone. Ed has been working on my cars for almost 10 years and I wouldn't trust another mechanic with them- he never performs maintenance I don't need, but always keeps me safe on the road. He even offered help when I was buying a new (used) car on which models are the easiest to maintain! I live over an hour away and still bring my car to Ed Murphy Auto because it is definitely worth it.

For four years Paul has been taking care of my car. After my first experience with Len Stoler Lexus, it was clear I needed to find a dependable and honest company for my automotive maintenance. Paul goes beyond expectations in numerous categories. He always explains what needs to be done with great clarity, and he always, always backs up his company's work with fairness and quality. Whenever an unforeseen situation arises - believe me, cars aren't perfect - Paul made sure the problem was addressed quickly and resolved with the utmost fairness. I have tinkered with cars all my life, including rebuilding a 1965 Mustang, and whenever I visit Paul's he takes the time to explain what needs to be done with such thoroughness, I always learn something. He is an expert at using digital resources to show you exactly what is going on. I have observed him giving advice to other customers, and he has always explained their options with their best interests in mind. After my first visit, I researched the replacement parts he used for repairs and found that he only uses top quality products. He has made excellent recommendations on tires, and is quick to admit when you have a better option on any element of your car maintenance needs. I broke down near Paul's and was towed there for service. They determined the alternator to be the problem and reccomended several other repairs including all new rotors, brake pads, a new belt, rear axle seals, a coolant flush, and brake fluid flush. I checked their pricing against my Nissan dealer, and the alternator / belt replacement was fairly priced, so I had Paul's do the work. I was not interested in the flushes, so I declined. My only concern was the pricing for the brakes & rotors. It would have cost $1500 at Paul's and $450 at Nissan so I bought them my self at Advanced Auto for $250 and will install later this week. I did not think to ask Paul while I was there, but I suspect that he priced a higher end rotor / pad than what I need. Either way, the labor of $550 was too high for that work. The people there were friendly and they got me in and out quickly so I would go there again. Just don't be afraid to check the pricing.

I had a chance to spend some time with Paul at a business seminar and he seems genuinely focused on giving his customers the best experience possible. After browsing his website, you can tell he has made a significant investment in both equipment and the training necessary to provide the best service possible. He runs the type of shop I'd recommend friends to.

I went there couple of years ago to change the oil. Not where I usually go, but they were close and I needed to take care of it so I went there. They did the oil change, but did not reset something, so I got new warning lights on the panel after I left the shop, in addition, when it started to rain later in the day it turned out that my wipers are not working. When my husband looked at them he found that the screws on them where loosened, and if we didn't know what to look at we would definitely take the car back to the shop to fix them, I think this was what they where hoping for.

I wish this person had at least given us a call and a chance to resolve this issue. What she is talking about is the maintence reminder light that turns on every 5000-7500 miles to remind you of a needed oil change. Since the light was not on when it came in the technician probably didn't realize it had a maintence light system. There are a lot of cars that don't have them even among the same manufactures. We would have been happy to reset it. As for the wiper complaint. This is also a common problem for a lot of cars. As they get older the nuts at the wiper arm base loosen. We have people come in from time to time with this problem. We simply tighten them up and send them on their way at no charge. This person never gave us a chance. If she had I'm sure we would have made her happy.
