Let's be honest - our cars can always use a little cleaning. It can be pretty challenging for most of us to keep our vehicles in pristine condition with busy schedules. Not only do we not have the time, but we may lack the knowledge or tools to do the job justice. If this sounds like you, it may be beneficial for you to consider getting the service of car detailing.    Car Detailing VS. Car Wash You may be wondering, "Is there a noticeable difference between a car wash and car detailing services?" and the simple answer is: DEFINITELY. These two services may seem similar at first, but they are immensely different from one another. The average cost of a car wash can be significantly less expensive than car detailing. However, most people justify the price difference for additional services offered.   An average mechanical car wash will only include exterior cleaning and washing, drying, and tire washing. Why Does My Car Squeal When I Brake?

Why Does My Car Squeal When I Brake?

There are a few sounds that can make you cringe. These may include fingernails scraping on a chalkboard, a train coming to a screeching halt on the tracks, or your brakes squealing when you stop. There may not be much you can do about the train or the fingernails on the chalkboard, but you can see a licensed technician at our shop when your brakes begin screeching. It Could be a Signal of Worn out Brake Pads The most common signal that your brake pads are wearing out is the squealing from the brakes. That is there is a metal wear indicator that gets exposed when the pads wear out. When it is exposed, the brakes produce a screeching sound to make you aware that your brakes need your attention. You May Have Loose Brake Parts The braking system on your car is made up of many parts. These include rotors, and possibly drums, hoses, and calipers. What is the Difference Between A Conventional, Semi-Synthetic, and Synthetic Oil Change?

Typically, cars can go for between 5,000 to 7,500 miles without an oil change, but when you finally have to change it, you can choose from a wide selection of options. In that case, you can choose to top up the oil in your automobile with conventional, synthetic, or semi-synthetic oil. Each oil type is unique. For instance, synthetic oil works well in extreme temperatures while semi-synthetic oil thrives in areas with low temperatures. Read on to find out how these oil categories compare. Conventional Engine Oil Conventional oil is formulated from a base that's 100% mineral oil derived from refining crude oil. All types of motor oil were at one point a conventional oil, also known as mineral oils. They're an economical option as they forego most refinement and re-engineering processes, which can be expensive. Despite that, they still contain vital additives that may help reduce engine wear and tear, thereby improving overall performance. Synthetic Mo ... read more

Meet Our New Service Writer - Will Lorenzo

I have been in the automotive business most of my life. I started out washing cars for my Dad's car lot when I was 8 years old. I spent 26 years working for a family owned repair shop here in Baltimore. I took some time off to take care of family and home projects and now I’m back. I chose Paul’s Automotive because it’s the same family style business. The shop has great techs and the commitment to great work is the best I have seen. I hope to see my old friends and hope to make  new ones. Will Lorenzo
